What type of pet door should I get?

When you are trying to maintain a home, making it lasts before any actual repairs can be done is possible. Well, if you have a pet, it might be a bit challenging. A happy pet must be able to come and go as they please, run around a bit in the backyard if they want to.

Tired of dog scratches on your door?

When in the market for pet doors, you need to consider your living situation, the size, and your budget.

If you are renting, it is close to impossible owning a pet door. You could ask the landlord before moving in if it is important for you to have pet doors installed. If you live in an area where it is constantly bad weather and it is extreme, you certainly don’t want that to enter your home.

Here are a few doors for pets that you can look out for:

Traditional flap pet door. This is great if you have a small pet. You don’t have to worry about your security because it would be impossible for a person to sneak in through the pet door.

SureFlap Microchip pet door. The automatic pet door is the best of its kind. A microchip is implanted in your pet, it could be in the collar, that only allows the pet to go in and out the pet door. However, it’s not the best when you have larger dogs (ie. German Shepherds) they are more suited for the smaller stature dogs.
